Sunday School Intern (Grades 4-8)


The position of the Westminster Presbyterian Sunday School Intern is created to help with the facilitation of our Sunday School program each week. 

General Duties:

  1. Help with the facilitation of our Sunday School program. This includes fellowship each Sunday morning.
  2. Encourage youth to regularly attend Sunday School.

Working Relationship:

The Sunday School Intern shall:

  1. Be under the direct supervision of Director of Christian Education/Campus Ministry.
  2. Recruit volunteers from the congregation to assist with the Sunday School program.
  3. Work closely with these volunteers on a continual basis. 

Skills and Qualifications:

The Sunday School Intern shall:

  1. Have a deep Christian commitment and an appreciation for the reformed tradition. 
  2. Be somewhat familiar with the viewpoints of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
  3. Be outgoing and engaging about our Sunday School programs; engaging and encouraging youth to attend .
  4. Have an open dialogue with parents.
  5. Have the ability to work alongside the Director of Christian Education/Campus Ministry.
  6. Exhibit clear communication and organizational skills.
  7. Be 18 years or older with understanding that a background check will be taken.

Expectations and Pay:

  1. The Sunday School Intern shall work an average of 2.5 hours per week.
  2. Pay is $10.00 per hour. Time sheets will be due on the 12th and the 27th of each month
  3.  This is a ten (10) month intern position, September 1 thru June 30, with the possibility of renewal.
  4. At the end of each year and at the discretion of the Director of Christian Education and Campus Ministry, this intern position will be up for review and renewal.  If the intern position is renewed, the individual in this position will have the opportunity to submit an application for the next year.
