Committees and COmmissions

Music and Worship

Music and Worship is responsible for the planning and implementing worship. They  work with the pastor to plan special music, worship schedules, and how we worship. They meet on the 3rd Sunday at 1:00pm

Mission and Community Outreach

This Commission on Mission and Community Outreach is charged with the promotion and development of interest, participation, and support for the mission of the church and its social witness, world-wide and locally. . They meet on the 4th Sunday of the month at 11:30pm 

Spiritual Life

Spiritual Life is responsible for outreach for guests and new members, maintenance of the membership roll, education of the congregation regarding evangelism, and publicity regarding Westminster. They meet on the 1st Sunday of each month at 11:30am. 

Faith Formation

Christian Education is tasked with teaching members of our church, toddlers through adults.  Its aim is to develop person to the fullest potential in the image of God and to equip them for the mission of the world in which God calls all Christians. They meet quarterly when there is a 5th Sunday at 11:30am. 

Electronic Communication 

Electronic Communication is responsible for maintaining all our technology use, especially related to communication. They run the media for Sunday worship, discuss new ways to implement technology, and use social media to communicate with the congregation and community. 

Stewardship and Finance

Stewardship and Finance are responsible for the creation and oversight of the budget and the financial program of the church. They meet on the Thursday before session at 7:00pm.

Matthew 25

 Westminster  become a Matthew 25 church in September of 2021. In doing so we now have a committee to focus on Building Congregational Vitality, Eradicating Systemic Poverty, and Dismantling Structural Racism. 

CODA 

The Commission on Diversity and Allyship (CODA) is charged with ensuring that all who seek to develop a faith in Jesus Christ are welcomed and encouraged to fully participate. 

Personnel 

The Personnel Committee is charged with providing counsel and support in those areas affecting persons employed by the church, including the development of policies and procedures for persons employed by the church.

Nominating 

The Nominating Committee is elected annually by the congregation and prepares a slate of candidates for various officers that is representative of its membership. They present enders, deacons, treasurer, financial secretary, auditors, and the next years nominating committee. 

Church Facility Board

Church Facility Board is responsible upkeep and maintenance of the church. They also make decisions about church use by outside organizations. They meet on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 8:30am.
